My steering wheel begins to shake violently when I left off the gas and coast whn I'm doing about 60 and it will continue to shake until it get below 40, I give it gas again or I hit the brakes. I checked the lug nuts and they seem to be okay. Could it be my CV's or brakes? My CV's do need to be replaced and currently have duct tape holding the boots intact. :D Any thoughts or ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Get your wheels balanced.
The brakes if warped will only cause shakes when applied.

If I remember right, if the inner joint of the cv axle is bad, it will shake under acceleration. If the outer joint of the cv axle is bad, it will click when turning. I think it is either tie-rod ends or a wheel/tire balance problem. Have you hit any curbs or potholes lately? I have seen people use rtv on ripped boots which actually seems to work pretty good as long as the boot is cleaned good. And of course you have to use a shitload of rtv.

My tires are relatively newly balanced (or at least I think so) and no I haven't hit anything. I'll try to rotate my tires and see what happens. If that does work then I'll try new CV's.
