If a wategate spring is set for a specific psi, 10lbs for example, can u run more psi with the help of an electronic boost controller or is it only limited to the 10lbs?

Depends on the EBC, but if you don't want to spend that much money, a manual boost controller goes upstream so that the W/G actuator doesn't even see boost until after whatever PSI your MBC is set to. There's a lot of information out on the internet about how wastegates and BCs work, Google.com is your friend. ;)

I have yet to install my turbo setup, but I will be running a Greddy Profec B, which basically has a Low, High, Off feature.
If it is off, you will just be running your stock wastegate psi.
You can set what you want the Low and High settings to be and can switch between them on the fly. As stated previously, the boost controller will actuate when the wastegate opens and closes based on how much boost you want, by what you set it at.

A boost controller will allow you to run more boost than your 'native' spring pressure. You cannot run less boost than your native spring pressure.

I've found that, depeding on the type of wastegate and/or boost controler, it is hard to run more than about 1.5-2 times your native boost level.

so this means we can't have Turbo run at like 7psi for daily driving but up the boost to 18-20psi for the track?
