Black93 05-20-2002, 09:47 PM hey sorry to hear about the tranny. but its cool that you ran a  11.55. if you werent in 5th than the taller gearing seems to have worked. Are you gonna repair it yourself?? if so id be happy to stop by and lend a hand.
i talked to warren and its a shame he sold his car. fortunately hes on to better things like... Trucks?? ugh nevermind
hey808 05-20-2002, 09:56 PM Holy $HIT!!! I think you may have posted this already, but what exactly is in your car again? I know you are running an Fmax Stage II plus, but what else is under the hood that's making you go so fast?
Bob
'97 Fmax SE-R
insaneser 05-20-2002, 10:05 PM My setup is is an fmax manifold ceramic coated but the rest is custom not a f-max kit!!
nathan i'd be glad to have you help i will be working on it this weekend !! i have a garage for my car now in the complex!!!
92SE-R 05-21-2002, 12:20 AM Holy crap! Nice times! About time someone knew how to drive with the FMAX kit! I see way too many guys running 12's when they should be running 11's.
TurbochargedSER 05-21-2002, 10:19 AM Great Job!
sr20lbmonster 05-21-2002, 10:36 AM Congradulations on a job well done...keep it coming
bl200sx 05-21-2002, 11:10 AM that is great!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry your tranny broke.
sr20lbmonster 05-21-2002, 11:13 AM who cares if his 2rd went out, the man still did 11 sec 1/4 i am sure hes got at least 3 tranny in his garage waiting for swap.
TurboJesus 05-21-2002, 01:47 PM Good Times !!! MAN I HOPE My times will be that low when I get my turbo rebuild and MSD.
Hector Firpo 05-21-2002, 02:29 PM Insaneser was your tranny shotpeened and cryotreated?, what kind of gear oil are you using? Congrats really impressive times.
muleman 05-21-2002, 07:58 PM i was going to ask that same question? cryo treated??
insaneser 05-21-2002, 08:29 PM that was the stock transmission that came in the car with 83000 miles on it !!
and i do not have a spare i need to get a spare and start to rebuild the one that came in the car!!
If anyone can help with getting a transmission , who and where from , i would appreciate it .
and also what kind of treatment can be done to make the tranny stronger !!
what is james farrer doing for his tranny???
Black93 05-21-2002, 08:38 PM this may be a STUPID question but...
Could the final drive be numerically reduced to lessen the amount of torque sent through it and possibly reduce the shock the gears take???? i hate seeing people go thru trannies like popsicles:(
Hector Firpo 05-21-2002, 09:03 PM You can cryotreat and shotpeen your gears. I cryotreated mine @ http://www.frozenrotors.com/ they charged me $100.00 wich is their minimum charge. Shotpeening ( I didn't do it, found out about it too late) don't know any place, but I'm sure someone will.
Another cryotreating place:

CNibbana 05-21-2002, 09:38 PM I heard a rumor that Place Racing has some sort of metal insert specifically made for our transmission that can be welded in to make it stronger. I never called to see if it was true.
I know that some people have welded in material. There was an article in Turbo or SCC once about a guy with a turbo orange Classic who did it.
insaneser 05-22-2002, 06:05 PM the case didnt crack it is just the gearset ,specifically 3rd gear .
i have all the es mm it is very stiff .
i'm looking more towards internals.
what has most of the high hp cars done
se-riously boosted 05-22-2002, 06:29 PM If u need a tranny try Brian @ sleeper motorsport in CALI. 909-884-4084. I think he's got a couple of them.
