Do they still sell the classic, Se-r style, GSR, new in Mexico? I would seriously be interested in buying one brand new. Is it possible? I can't really see a problem that there would be doing this? My tech instructor is from New Mexico and I was asking him about getting parts from Mexico and he said that you can go across the border for the day and buy parts and bring them back. He said there is some sort of tax but didn't think it was much. I would think that it would pass safety standards and such. Does anyone know what they get for one? Options? Funny thought: if you bought one brand new down there and drove it up here to visit, would you be able to go to the dealer if you had a problem under warranty? Imagine the look on the techs face seeing one knew under warranty. Deja vu.
If anyone has any info on this please let me know. Thanks.

Here is the link to Nissan Mexico's website:
http://www.nissan.com.mx/
From the kicking around that I did on the site, it does not look like a SE-R style Tsuru is being offered, only a 4 door (quatro puerta;) ) sedan.
And, I think bringing a car in would prove to be much more difficult than bringing in parts after a day in the junkyards...just my $.02.

Damn, that's too bad. I got a hard on thinking about the possibility of buying a brand new classic SE-R from down there and bringing it up here. Shit, I'd pay shipping to have it brought to my door.

Wouldnt it be a lot cheaper to just buy a old se-r classic and just do a engine swap for a new 2 JDM 2 liter? After import costs, taxes, etc....I think that would be a more feasible way to go. Or maybe with the beneficial US exchange rate...buy one down there....swap tires for some off road tires and sneak it over the border through the desert....that would kick ass...watch out for illegal drug activity and dont hit any of those border crossing pedestrians.
