I have electric blue 1993 NX2000 and I am currently attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. I'm new to this forum and came about while researching my dream car (GTR R34 Skyline). When I bought my NX over a year ago ($6000: 80,000miles, very good) I didn't know very much about cars (but I'm quickly learning). I've been very happy with my NX, but wish I wasn't as hard on it I have been. Since I've owned my car I've needed to get a new suspension, an new clutch, and new tires. Since I bought my car with no car knowledge I'm not sure if the previous own did anything to it (he said he did something, but I'm not sure what). My car got keyed down the driver side really bad the first month that I had it (random person at the mall). My friend backed it to the back passenger corner and made a dent which a poorly hammered out. I've spent all my money paying off my car/ insurence/ gas (I put 30,000miles on it my first year) so I haven't been able to fix these things or do anything else to my car (still shitty stock sounds system). It sounds very nice, deep and low, but its only a tip. If anyone of you live in or around San Luis Obispo, CA and would like to talk/compare cars and could give my some tips/comments.

I know one NX2000 owner in San Luis, and I live about 2.5 hours North of you in Santa Cruz.

PM me and I'll give you the info of the guy who lives in SLO.

I live in Santa Barbara. There are a lot of good tuners for sr20s in LA area so we are pretty lucky.

Believe it or not your best bet for inexpensive body work is Mexico. If you find the right place, the quality of work is exceptional (better than a lot of the American collision centers) and the price is very low. Many of the American insurance comanies send cars down there to get repaired. You need to find the right place though, don't go just anywhere or you end up worse off than you started. I will get some directions to a place I know of it you are interested.

If you are looking for horsepower, http://www.se-r.org will give you a place to start. make sure you look in the 200sx and sentra sections for some good articles that can give you some ideas.

I am just getting started with sr20s too, but I am happy to help.

I was born in Vandenberg, and my grandparents still live in Lompoc, and some live in the same area (Solvang, Santa Maria) so I am there in spirit, my parents are on vacation out there.....
