Anyone with a HS header on a 2.0L B14 get a virbration sometimes at low RPMs?
It sounds like a heat shield, but shouldn't my mechanic have removed all of these when installing the header? The only other thing I can think of is that it may be the flange at the front of the B-pipe making contact with the engine as the engine shifts when accelerating.
I appreciate your help.

Make sure it the header is not touching anything like the swaybar or the engine crossmember.

That would pretty hard to mess up like that. Unless the header is defective.

Didn't one of the HotShot Generation headers make a noise from the downpipe that is on it? I thought i remembered reading about some people with a "buzzing" noise coming from the header.

I believe you are referring to the "cricket sound." I think it was mainly dealing with the 3rd generation. I heard it in my car, oddly it dissapeared once I got JWT s4 cams.

It's not the cricket noise. I'm pretty sure that the cricket noise is just the way the air moves through the steel manifold vs. the stock cast iron manifold. I have a JWT pop charger and recently installed a set of JWT S3 cams, but it still vibrates.
The noise I hear lasts for only a second below 3,000 RPM, and it seems like it only happens when I'm on the accelerator pretty good. Who knows?! I did look around under the car when I changed the oil a few weeks ago, but I didn't see any signs of metal touching metal.

That reasoning might make sense if all headers were making damn cricket noises... But it only seems to be certain batches. Word is out it's cheap flex pipes (they're not leaking, but the inside of the pipe is badly designed). I think art_from_ct, told me he purchased a flex pipe from summit and crickets disappeared..

Not all HS headers are alike. For some reason, some fit differently. It fit fine on my car, but my buddies had the same generation HS header and it was touching his crossmember. He had to stick some rubber tubing in between there to dampen the vibrations.
