I replied for your motor mounts but you changed your mind! j/k.
It's all good though, I made shims for the prothane inserts.

that's cool, hope your mounts are ok. as for the mount you wanted, I didn't list it f(the rear one), and the front one, we verified that you couldn't use it with your crossmember :)

The car drives like night and day with the inserts.
The only thing that rattles is the dome light. It rattles like mad!
The installation was not as bad as I had thought. The only problem I had was unbolting the rear mount. There was only a 1mm gap between the mount and the insert. So I had some sheet metal left and trimmed enough to make a band around the insert, then fitting in snug. Who would be able to use the front insert they sold me?

when me and my friend were working on my motor mounts, we had the hardest time getting the stock inserts out. I finally got the bright idea to use his Sears punch chisels. They look like the ones in the picture on this page (the ones to the left):

with the fattest chisel and a decent sized hammer, we easily whacked the metal insert inward from a few sides. Then we just positioned the mounts so that we could whack the middle out with just the hammer.

the mount holes that the bolts go through will widen a bit over time, which decreases vibration. My car barely feels like it has mounts anymore. Or maybe I just got used to it :)

We had done it the same way. It was to much of a hassle to remove all the mounts and once and to hook up the engine hoist. I'm glad you decided to keep your car "as is." I'll still keep my eye out for a stock b14 or g20 for you.

btw, what about the front prothane mount I was sent? this mount is much small than the rest. is it for a b13?

not sure bro, you never showed me the mount. if you wanna see my front mount on the weekend you can. When you say front mount, are you talking bout the dogbone mount, or the passenger side mount?

also, thanks for keeping a look out on cars. There is a B15 SE w/PP for sale that I really like, but I'm thinking the mechanical + body repairs will set me back over $7000, price of car included... depressing, looking for used cars
