Blew up 3rd, again.

anyone have a 95-97 vintage LSD tranny for sale?

This madness must stop!! I've read about about more blown trannies in the last couple weeks then I could have ever imagined.

There must be a way to weld in some material in the webbing to strengthen the tranny. Anyone?

Sure there is, just find a guy that can weld on aluminum. I found one on the final rebuild but the shop was closed until the following monday. So I bit the bullet and bought this stuff called PC-7. It bonds anything to anything. I bought 2 tubes of it, both ends open up and you mix it just like epoxy. Its a metal particle based bonding agent and I stuffed the shit out of that webbing once I sprayed carb cleaner in there to degrease it. Has held great and no breakage yet! :D

I hate hearing these stories. it makes me NOT want to turbo my car.

Of course, I'm not officially cursed after posting this. I look for my third gear to explode sometime in the next week. ;)

actually, someone asked me when 3rd was going to exlplode last saturday at dyno day, Steve Paik and B12 DET Charles, now that i remember. you got me back charles! (i had said that i had snapped an axle, on my first run, in the same lane he was going to use, and sure enough, he snapped the same axle, same way, on the same tires, scary)

lmfao, I was reading this like greg dont do it dont do it, you laid a duzy on yourself. Good luck though sucks to hear about these blowing trannies.

sorry to hear that.. What kind of clutch are you using?
What is everyone talking about when they say "welding up the tranny"? I've got the B15 tranny and it's given no trouble yet.
