I was wondering when I was passing through a puddle yesterday....I am getting a CAI in the very near future and I was kind of worried when I ran across this huge lake in the middle of the road. If you don't press the accelerator while you are going over the puddle, will it still induct air, and along with it, water? If not I am going to have to get out of my car when I pass this street again and just pull out the second pipe to my intake in the middle of the road! Thanks!

at low RPM your car can also guzzle water. Not fun. Get one of those AEM bypass CAI valves ($45?). I hear they really do work. Don't chance it when the tides high.

nooo! Alright thanks for the info. Looks like I am heading over to my local shop to get a bypass valve rather quickly since it likes to rain every freaking day in FL during the summer :(

Ha ha ha... I hear that bloke. It was supose to rain this week, but now it's not going to, but maybe it might... These weather tarts need to make up their minds. I just saw one of those bypass valves with an aluminium body!?!?! I'm looking right now for it... BRB

The AEM bypass valves don not work on the Sr20.

The AEM unit was almost the death of my SR20. It sucked all the way up into the TB. POS if you ask me.

Really? I heard they work!? Thanks for saving me the money. Looks like I'll still be getting out of my car to pull off the bottom half of my CAI when I see the lakes that FL roads are famous for...seems as if no one can actually design a road that has proper drainage..

The earlier generations had this problem (the foam coming out and ending up in the intake), but more recently it's supposed to have been fixed. I haven't heard/read of a problem in a while.

If you put the bypass valve BEFORE the MAF, and not between the MAF and the TB, there should be no problem and it should do its job just fine.

I read their total shit. Of course I don't belive half the shit I read or hear about. They supposedly only work when completely submerged or close to it. Just make the filter fit high in the fender well. You don't need it two inches from the ground. Besides, the pavement gets hot as well. Stick an old towel in the hole in the bumper and drive cautiously in the rain.
