Ok I've heard that our injectors top out (stock) at about 220hp. What I'm wondering is, if I set up my direct port system to flow more fuel, is it possible to go past 220?

Matt, fill us in on whether you're using a wet or dry setup.

If it's a wet direct-port setup, then yes, you can go MUCH higher than 220hp. With the wet direct port, the injectors are not a part of the equation. It's all about the fuel pump's capabilities, and fuel pressure.

If it's a dry direct-port setup, then no, you're limited to that number (220hp), maybe even less.

See the difference? On the wet, YOU are supplying the supplemental fuel, and shooting it past the factory injectors. As long as you get the mix (fog) right, the ecu has no idea what's going on.

On the dry, the ecu is supplying the extra fuel based on the O2 sensor readings. And, it is limited by injector size.

I see what you're saying Greg. I'm currently using a single, wet nozzle tapped into my intake. I just aquired a new manifold already tapped, and plugged for direct port and was planning on setting it up within the next few weeks. How do I figure the proper fogger setup though? Ideally I'd like to have a 100shot direct port wet. How I'm going to get there is beyond me.:D

Matt, if you really want to go with the 100 shot, better stock up on another tranny. ;) Seriously....it's easy to configure a 100 shot wet direct port setup. You've already got the manifold, plumbing, solenoids, etc.

You will need a fuel pump capable of supporting the increased demands. My stock pump did well at 78hp setting. 140hp + 78hp = 218hp.

You will need to tap into your existing fuel system to supply the fuel solenoid. I used a Moroso 'tee' fitting between the fuel filter and the rail. And, forget about an adjustable FPR. Stock pressure is fine. In fact it will be the 'base' which determines everything else....like jetting on both the N and F side.

My car (YMMV) liked .024 N jets and .016 F jets for the 78hp setting. This is per a fuel pressure chart provided me by the tech staff at Nitrous Oxide Systems. Your car may like one step either way on the fuel to run perfectly. Each motor is slightly different.
Just a note: .016 jets are TINY, and IIRC, the smallest that NOS makes.

The next jump up would be .026 or .028 N jets, and .018 F jets. Try both on the N side, read your plugs, and adjust accordingly.

Hope this helps. :)
