Helloooooooooo guys,

I hope you guys give me some specs on your cars gear ratios.
I am still trying to work out what the differences are between my car and your guys babies.

ok, I don't know what make of gearbox I have on the car, but these are the ratios that it is set to:Manual transmission
Gear ratios: 1st - 3.063
Gear ratios: 2nd - 1.826
Gear ratios: 3rd - 1.286
Gear ratios: 4th - 0.975
Gear ratios: 5th - 0.756
Gear ratios: Reverse - 3.153
Final drive ratio: - 4.176

I am trying to figure if it is performing correctly or not.

At the moment, the car is topping out at about 92 miles per hour (148 kph) (clock speed, I don't know the read speed, this was a road test) just as I touch the red line about 7500 rpms on the third gear.

Then on the 4 gear, at about 7000 rpms, I am getting about 111.5 mph (180 kph).

Does these figures seem a about correct or too low.

I would appreciate any feedback guys, even if you cars are modified a bit, I would still like to know what your speeds are at the different gears and rpms. This could help in determining if a car under performing for people like me that find it very diffeicult to get to Dyno's.

Thanks,

Mervyn G

I am sure that the gear ratios are regular sr20de tranmission ratios. Same final drive also. Note: G20 tranny has a higher 3-5th gear ratio.

i think 5th is the same on the G20

only diff 3rd and 4th.

Correct me if I am wrong, I am pretty sure Ryan has the answer....

hey Merv. How's it goin? Your car is about right, I suppose. Mine goes a little higher in fourth at that rpm. At this speed the needle has a lot of error.
I forget the gear ratios so someone else can field that. The thing is mods wont effect the speed at a given rpm anywhere in its range.
The dyno will tell you what's up. You can prepare for it by going to se-r.net . They have many sensor tune-ups, and things you can do. After timing there are a whole list of things; throttle positions sensor, throttle body coolant bypass (not if it will freeze), cleaning the throttle body(may not apply actually iirc you have no egr).
Good luck, Ben

Hey what are the benefits of the TB coolant bypass mod and how do you do it

Non that I noticed. Just another notch on your "Mod List".
Look under your throttle body. You'll see the two coolant lines.
Disconnect and couple those two lines together.
Now wash the coolant off your hands and enjoy the throttle response you've been missing.
