I have a 92 classic with all bolt-ons. When im on idle and i hit the gas it hesitates and desnt have good throtle response. I took the EGR OFF the car(dont have it-its blocked off)I've checked fuel pressure, injector ohm, and the MAF seems to be ok(it doesnt need regrounding)i did try and reground it and nothing changed!!. I'm only getting about 230 to a tank and i have replaced the O2 sensor before. The car seems to have a lose in power before 3000rpms but after that it runs strong. Does anyone have any clue to *** is wrong???I've tried everything to fix it and its just not working!!!Thanks in advance Tom

Might sound like the stupidist idea in the world right now, but what kinda fuel filter are you using? It could be something that easy, even if the pressure is testing okay, it may not be able to flow at the demand of power. Just an idea.

"scooter" is onto something there. Also, when the EGR system was on the car it was leaving soot and carbon on all the idle control systems etc... Make sure your block off plate has a good seal also. Not to be the dogs bullocks, but you did block off the spot where the EGR valve was removed (2 holes) and not just the exhaust gas tube (1 hole) after you removed it all? When you removed the vacuum hose from the EGR, did you plug it properly? Unfortunately the EGR system leaves a lot of deposits on everything dealing with the intake system so this may give you some insight. Ok, here's my favorite thing to suggest that brings more opinions and arguments... try 2 tanks of Cheveron Techron cleaner. Use only the small bottle and then retreat after 4-5 tanks. It worked on my car and Nissan techs say that Techron is mild enough to be safe. You can ask your Nissan techs. I also use BAE DIING plug wires and let me tell you bloke... THEY KICK ARSE!!! I think Top Speed has them or you can call Japtrix at 561-963-8700 and they can get them for you if you wish. Hope this helps a bit.

Also, how long ago did you do a tune up? I have seen this happen many times and the result just have been something a tune up could fix.

I say tune up too.
Check your ignition and plugs. I had a similar problem and tried the EGR, and all of the tips I had seen. Then I cleaned the inner terminals on the ccap/rotor and it worked great.

My car hesitaes off idle. It also hesiates from 2300-3500 rpm when it shudders. I have done the following without any sucess:
1 - removed, inspected, and cleaned EGR-BPT valves
2 - clean throttle plate and body with carb cleaner na tooth brush
3 - new fuel filer
4 - new plugs
5 - 91 octane with $100 of diferent fuel cleaners and additives
Stil runing like a$$

You didn't mention cap and rotor. That was my problem.

Maybe this link will help. Just look around. Also, make sure you are running NGK plugs and that you have the right temp, 5 or 6 as a 7 is too cold and can get fouled up pretty quick. THE HIGHER THE NUMBER ON NGKs THE COLDER THE PLUG!!!

I have tried all sorts of plugs and had many odd happenings with them. I ended up throwing lots of $$ (plugs link Misfire, and Quad shyte, etc...;)) in the trash. Now i'm back with NGK and things are good.
