yeah good thing you had one bolt in there or that thing would have shot off, you have to leave one bolt in and maybe tap on the other side of it with a ratchet or something and it should come right off.

Once i have the tensioner back in do i disengage the hook, or will the tensioner do that on its own?

it will do it on its own when you turn the car over.

This is one of those times when having an FSM is very handy. ;)

You do not disengage the hook, it will do it when installed properly.

Hmm well it didn't disengage when i bolted it up, and i toqured the bolts to about 6 ft-lbs so i think it should be fine. I just used the back end of a screwdriver to put pressure on the chain guide and then the hook disengaged on its own. Is that OKAY? Or when i start my car will i be toast heh??? God i hope i did it right!

its not supposed to disengage when you bolt it up it wont dissengage until you turn the car over, I'm not really sure what your saying with how you dissengaged it.

Well i bolted it up, and put pressure on the chain guide so the tensioner piston retracted just enough to release the hook. And im assuming that thats exactly what happens when the engine turns over?

Yea it should be ok. The next time just turn the motor over at the crank and you will hear it pop out.
