Okay i just finished my JDM cam install today, i did both intake and exhaust. Anyways i went to set my timing afterwards and i guess i did a good job of putting the distributor back on because the timing was dead on 15deg however the idle was very very very low, now i test drove to car before i did the timing and there was nothing wrong with the idle, just when i took the tps off did the idle drop like crazy. So i set the idle to around 850-900 rpm and then put the timing at 19deg.
With both 15 and 19deg the idle was slighty lumpy, is that normal with the JDM cams?
Also when i was double checking the timing the second i noticed that when i could hear the lump in the idle, the timing would jump back to 13deg or so. The timing jump was exactly when the idle would drop down for a sec(lump). Is that normal, i am running 91 gas, but could it be nocking? (oh and yes i removed the TPS and reved 3times to 3K)
Oh ya and one more thing, when i turn off the car i hear a somewhat loud sigh come from the car. At first i thought it was the intake coughing air back out, thats what it sounds like. Its a smooth single cough/sigh. Any ideas what that could be.
