Now, I understand that for a 50 shot of wet nitrous you are to retard your timing by one degree and run colder plugs. Now if I'm running my JDM SR20DE on 19 degrees, does that mean I only have to knock it down to 18? or by 1 degree is it referrign to stock 15 degrees timing??

It's 1 degree below stock. So it'd still be 14.

oh ok, thanks for clearing that up.

only 1 degree of timing retard?

I'm curious, what grade of fuel was this recommended for?

The highest grade available, around me it's 93. Normal rule people use is 1 deg per 50hp. Last year I had to run around 7 deg of timing with my 100 shot, but I also found out I had some fuel issues.

Why so much timing retard for a 100 shot?? Wouldn't it be like 12 degree's -3??

I'm hoping it was just because of the fuel issues I was having.

more then likely was if you left your fuel system stock. i dont plan to go up to 100, 50 shot suits me fine, until im ready for the fuel upgrades.

Well I'm running a walbro 190. I was using a stock fuel pressure regulator and assumed that if anything I'd just have high pressure. My gauge had went out and I wasn't worried about the pressure. When I put a new fuel pressure gauge in, I realized that when I revved the motor I lost 10psi. I changed the regulator and it fixed the issue. I think the pressure was actually low also, but I'm not sure, just don't remember.

well if u had that reguator on the car when u were sprayn then that was def a big part of the problem, leaning out topend is harsh to any motor.

Exactly. I was KILLING my spark plugs and couldn't figure out why. At the time I thought that the fact that I was using the JWT ecu, which is supposed to advance timing, was my problem. That's why I had the timing turned down so far. Now though, with the fuel system up to par, I should be able to make some more power and be a little faster.

ahh i woulda switched in the stock ECU, but u should def make nice power now.

Yeah it now has a stock ecu in it, and soon I'll have one of calum's, so that I can change the timing easily.

Leave the timing stock for a 50shot and spray that bitch right off the line.

I ran through like 4-5 bottles on a 50shot dry with no fuel or timing modifications. The car ran just fine and my plugs looked great.

With nitrous its about "tuning" as with anything else adding more air. If your car doesnt like running the 50shot at 15degs. Drop it down to 14. Start at 15 though. Play with your plug gaps to. You can pull alot out of a 50shot when its setup right

With a dry shot there's no need in retarding the timing. Not sure why, but it's what NOS reccomends.
