: I broke some shit again
ThomasSr20 05-26-2002, 05:22 AM I was racing my friend on the highway redlinning 3rd gear at 8000Rpm and than i think i miss it from 3rd to 4th and went to 2nd. Than my whole damn car just shut off.
When i got to a complete stop, i try to crank the car but it doesn't starts. Than i pop the Valve cover off to see if my rocker flyout. And there it is 8 fucking broken rocker laying around. So i call my friend up to give me a toll to his house with a rope.
:( :( :(
That sucks dude but it happens to the best of us.
DubuRX 05-26-2002, 08:19 AM Shitty!! Could have been worse though!!

Storm88000 05-26-2002, 03:45 PM HOW and WHY are you taking it to 8000rpms?

I am wondering the same thing?
Yeah, I rememeber when I did this also. God what a crappy feeling one gets. I got hell from all of my buddys. Might want to check your valves just to make sure.
especse_r 05-26-2002, 04:43 PM stupid thomas! well shit happens bro. Just be carefull next time alright? Later... hope you get it fixed soon
ThomasSr20 05-26-2002, 08:55 PM LOL sorry guys, i got a little too excited racing my friend on the highway. Good thing i got alot of spare rocker.
My next plan is after fixing my car, i will save up some money to put the Spring Valve and retainer in with the C1 cams and Jwt Cam gear that Andrea have.

Well to answer one of your question his JWT ECU has no rev limiter. This is the same ECU that came off of Doug's car. I have seen it in Dougs car hit 9,000 RPMs.
12.30se-r92 05-26-2002, 11:44 PM yes jwt has been good to all of us with the rev"s

JWT ECU's *do* have a fuel cut.
I have hit mine on the dyno.
The 8000 rpms you are referring to are read on the tachometer.
Those aren't accurate RPMs.
I shift at 8400 tachometer RPMs. The fuel cut comes on around 8600 tach rpms. On the dyno that read as 7600actual rpms.
Oh, and I, too, have a JWT ECU.

Bro I am not trying to start a debate. I am telling you this ECu does not have a Fuel cut out. The RPM's will keep on climbing. The ECU has no REV limiter!
llaprad1 05-27-2002, 12:12 AM Cool, no debate needed. Its not like aftermarket mods have consistent standards, as the JWT pressure plate thread can attest to.
I wouldn't doubt this one didn't. But the assumption that JWT removes the fuel cut entirely on all ECUs in incorrect also.
My main purpose of my post was to correct the assumption that 8500 rpms on a tach was crazy-mad-def (whatever) 8500 actual RPMs.
All of my findings were on a DynoJet dyno, for validity.
ThomasSr20 05-27-2002, 01:53 AM Good thing i found all the rocker that is broken under the valve cover. But my only big problem is that one of the thing that holds the valve up is missing by the retainer.
I replace all the rocker back on the Intake cams side and now i have to call Andrea to help me put back that piece that holds the Valve up on the exhaust side.
