Hey..
Just got back from the big Import Faceoff in Baton Rouge, LA.. I met up with my friend Danny with his 2.0L miata, the "MiniMonster" Miata, my buddy with a 300zx TT and a 96 240sx with an S14 engine. It was a realy great show and my buddy lost by 2 tenths to a 700whp Supra.. He was on ET streets and has a spec 6 puck, HKS Ballbearing GT turbos, 550cc injectors and JWT ECU. This was at 18psi of boost.. He ran a best time of 11.43 at 108mph!! This was also his run against the supra... It was a great day..and we believe that his time is a record for a stock block 300zx... A nice day to represent Nissan!

damn! so thats what traction does to your ET huh?

i am running the same traps, but i am 1.5 seconds slower!

thats pretty damned fast.

I find that ET hard to believe with that Trap speed. I believe you Travis, but I think that timer was recording the MPH wrong unless he broke or braked at the end of the run.

Even though the trap speed is the same as yours, you have to remember that it will be different for a RWD car as opposed to a FWD car.

Maybe he spun through all three gear changes, too. :D

I know..I've never seen that fast of a run with that low of a trap speed...I know this though.. He normally runs around 12.0 at 107.xx. But.... He is just learning how to run on slicks. He wasn't doing a long enough burnout and had 2.2ish 60ft. times launching at about 6000rpm. He would spin a little out of the hole.. So, we told him to do about a 7 second burnout to try to heat them up a little better.. Well..bingo! He dropped to a 1.68 60ft! He left the line at 6000rpm and I don't think the tires spun at all.. He actually left the supra till about 3/4 track..and the supra passed him for a 117mph 11.27 pass... I've got it on tape, and it's realy nice..

Wow, 1.6 60' time eh? That's GOOD. With a bit more suspension work, I wouldn't be surprised if he got even better. I've seen fox bodies get 1.4 60's. INSANE!

12.0 @ 107 is still way too low of a trrap speed. My friend runs 13.4 at 107 in his 2nd Gen RX-7, and another friend runs 11.08 at 134 in another RX-7.

13.4@107 is way to slow for that MPH. i ran a 12.9@107 on tiny slicks that spun through 1st. my trap speed indicates a mid 12, if i can get some larger slicks.

I believe the Timers were screwed up. I personally saw the 300z make that time.. The car was fast... but not 11 sec fast. The only way to run that et with that mph is to have a car a lot faster than that and get on the brakes.
The run was in the left lane which had issues all day. I have a timeslip of a 4 door turbo civic on street 18" tires running a 1.2 60 ft and 13.0. I was in the lane next to him driving my friends DET 240 and Ran 14.7 because of a bad launch (tried to launch it like my car :D) and I missed 3rd gear. His 13.0 sec car crossed the traps 2-3 cars ahead of my 14.7 pass... And we had close to the same reaction time...

BTW spinning inbetwen shifts adds mph and takes et.

I wanted to talk to the guy with the Z bud didnt get a chance to.

Check my other thread about the dyno and track.

Dunno...I watched a video of an old camaro that ran a 10.63 at 109mph. And..the supra that he was racing went 11.2..and they were neck and neck the whole race. The car is stupid fast either way. That was the first time he realy cranked the boost up on his new HKS turbos. Those things are sooo nice

Damn, the track is fucked up. 10's at 109? LOL. You better have sub 1 second 60' times.

i believe that if he had a good take off...my friend said he was at some track watching and there was a drag nsx that just punched it off the line and did a wheelie and shit and did like 12 or 13 at like 80mph because he didnt even go through the gears just through first and coasted

If a car ran a 10.8@108mph it is because it is a 9 sec car that got on the brakes :D or broke

not to add to the confusion but I have a video of a chevelle(71) running a 10.22@108mph(he did brake a lil bit at the end of the run, but it's a mid 9sec car at high 120mphs), I'll be happy to post it and give a link for yall if you want. It is all about traction, FWD can't get traction for shit, we can't put the power to the ground, but this chevelle's traction is quite impressive, compared to the Viper next to it that ran an 11.16@128mph. Just to show what off-the-line grip can do,

That's why I asked earlier in the thread if the Z guy was braking or if the car broke.

What exactly was the 60 ft on that run though for the 300z??
