sorry i dont konw about cats, all i know is i too probably need one, but anyway, I noticed on ur sig u have shaved door handles.

did you shave the handles and the lock hole? and what brand of solenoids did you use to open ur doors? have u ever had problems with them getting in to ur car, and what would u do if you accidentilly leave ur lights on and ur battery is dead?

sorry for all the questions, its just that i need to know before i do soemthing. TIA

Tom,

I need one also. I found the Random Technology for $200 plus shipping online somewhere. I think I might just get a no name cat that has 2.5inlet/outlet and call it a day since thats all we need.

as for the cat...i went and ot a catco....suld be puttng it on soon.

as for the shave handles, i used the 50lbs kit from autoloc....andyes have had problems with getting in, the passanger side sometimes sticks because its never used and moisture gets on the shaft and makes it harde gfor the soilinoid to pull....but a coupe slamms of the door and it works fine..the driver side works fine all the time...

if you get loke out or the battery dies, i made something so that i ca get into the engine compartment to jup the batt...o f the bat is good but no remote there is a overide button on the car hidden!!!!

yes ishaved both handles and locks, i also shaved the antenna hole.

i used to work at a body shop...afriend of mine helped with the shaving ad body work....but i block sanded i and painted it my self. I also wet sanded and buffed the clear flat myself. the kt for the poppers was like 350...and my friend shaved it or 80 bux.

I had to get a cat to pass Mass testing. 79.99 at Autozone. It is not stainless but it is a direct bolt in. Inlet and outlet are the same diameter as stock. Seems to flow well enough you can see threw it. Butt dyno says no power loss from OE cat.

HC went from .46 to .16
CO went from 6.44 to 1.08
noX went from 14.37 to .42
co2 went from 300.52 to 76.41

Save the planet change the cat.:D

How long do the OE cats generally last on our cars? I'm wondering now if I might need to change out mine.

Yup, check out the Summit and Jegs cataloge for a new cat. They run between $60-$100. In the Jegs catalog (www.jegs.com) Dynomax has a 3 way 2.5" Super Converter for $52.99 (part #289-15038). Cats last anywhere between 60,000 - 100,000 miles. after that the inner metals are no longer effective or it just starts breaking to bits inside. Hope this helps bloke.
