Has anybody or does anybody have an SAFC in there SE-R. I was told that they dont work to well on the SE-R. I dont quit understand why it wouldnt work to well could someone explain this more in depth.

probably the reason they told you it didnt work well was bc it wasn't dialed in right. i wouldn't know how to work one off hand...but i'm sure if you know what you are doing it will help maximize your performance...btw..apexi suggests that you have an authorized dealer dial it in for you.

A lot of people who use black boxes have a hard time with them because they are not set right, not because they don't/can't work. The best way to get the most out of it (and to prevent your motor from blowing up) is to have it set on a dyno w/ a Wideband O2 sensor. Wideband doesn't include *any* of those gauges that use the factory (or any 3-wire) O2 sensor either.

The biggest problem is not just not being adjusted right, but the fact that the Nissan ECU will fight the SAFC for control. Here is a comment by Mike Kojima regarding dial-a-booms (piggybacks).

yeah i dont recommend using a safc on a na car anyway unless you are at a high level of mods and tuning is more important but the main problem is that most people dont know how to use them and it could even hurt performance. Its expensive with little need in my oppinion.

Geo...the link didn't work. Is there another way I can view that article regarding "dial-a-booms"? Thanks.

So do you recomend using an AFC on a turbo'd SE-R?
