I have a 91 classic in desperate need of calipers, rotors, pads, and lines. I'm interested in doing NX front brake upgrade along with Goodridge lines. I have a couple questions.
1. MaddMatt - In a post you said to get Wagner loaded calipers from Carparts.com, but I don't see them listed. Besides them which ones should I get? If i ordered just rebuilt calipers I wouldn't be getting the need bracket, right?
2. What is the difference between the SE-R and NX rear calipers and rotors? Since I will be buying new rear calipers should I switch to NX calipers too?
3. Should I order lines for an SE-R or for a NX?
Any help would be great guys, I'm new to the SE-R and need some tips.

Holy sh!t. You guys think I'm the expert?!?
1. Carparts no longer carries Wagner calipers. Someone here (can't remember who) said the A1 Cardone calipers will come with the bracket.
2. NX caliper and rotors are quite a bit larger. NX rotors are not much bigger in diameter, but are 8mm thicker. You *must* get the NX calipers to go with the NX rotors. No mix-n-match here.
3. Lines should be the exact same for a 91-94 SE-R and 91-93 NX2K, despite the fact that the calipers are different. I'm using Goodridge lines for an SE-R on my NX calipers. No problem.
4. The best deal I've found on rotors is from www.brakeco.com. Chinese made NX rotors for $28 each. Can't beat it. If someone can, please let me know.
Edit: You are also aware that the NX calipers will not clear the stock 5.5" SE-R wheels, right? Must get 6" wheels to clear them, or file down the outside edge of the caliper.

What about the rear calipers? Are there any benefits and is it possible to use the rear calipers and rear rotors off of an NX?

How much of the caliper had to be removed to get NXs' into the stock classic wheels?
I'm not doing this yet but I would like it in the databank for when the time comes. :)
Or, is someone wants to give my a set of b14 wheels that is ok too. :)

NX rear brakes are the same as the SE-R rear brakes. No need to swap.

A couple of mm from the outside edge (2-4mm??). Get a grinding wheel and a drill. Install the brakes and just grind grind grind until the stock wheel clears.

i was about to get on ya there matt....as the ad22's will fit under classic rims.
to figure out what to grind kneel down and look directly into the wheel well. the first thing you see of the calp, the outer most surface facing out is what you grind. take a few mm's off, bout 1/4 inch at the most. you will see how it goes when you put your rim on. get a bench grinder down by the car with you, bolt on the calp with pads and all and put the rim on. you will see, take it off and grind away testing ever so often. this takes a little time but not too bad.

Aha! I get it the calipers width is the problem.
Ok while I have the experts here, If you wern't autocrossing but wanted a better brake for the classic. What would you do?
SS lines and better rotors maybe?
If I can't swing the $ for the NX brakes, what other tricks can I do to upgrade the stock sized brakes?
Thank you for the wisdom. I think my front rotors are starting to get a bit thin and I may have to do something ** I can do the full AD22VF upgrade.

Yeah, since the stock NX wheels are 14", the diameter of the Classic rim is not the problem.

SS lines, fresh fluid, and Axxis Ultimate pads up front, OE/something cheap in the rear. If your rotors are old, starting to show signs of heat cracks, or you just want to replace them, just get regular OE style (non drilled). I believe Black93 found some from NOPI (Brembos at that) for $25 each. That's a fine deal.
