Please search.
The GTiR ITB's need the GTiR head due to the bolt pattern on the inlet ports.

Quite a few companies make ITB kits for the DE motors but the gains are hardly worth it.

Mod is quite easy to do. You need to redrill the bottom hole of the throttles and port the throttles abit. About a 2 hour job:biggthump

......you'll get INSTANT throttle response, so you'll realise 8k on the tach before you even get to WOT.......if you do this to a poor little de, make sure your either trying to blow it up, or your careful

.......that's why you don't see to MANY gti-r ITB's with a WOTswitch for nitrous...

Anybody else have any feedback on this?

I've had a GTIR ITB IM sitting in my garage for a while and have been considering doing this swap on my bluebird motor. Any first hand info would be good!

I slotted the top and redrilled the bottoms, didn't have to port at all. The only thing I have that overhangs is the injector dimple on the DE(marked black semi circle on left side throttles)which isn't needed since the GTI-R's come in a different angle.

they are right on... I did this to my last de +t b13 and my car ran like a dream plus injectors are easy to find because they are top feeds I ran dsm 4g63T 440cc. Good luck with it.

Hey guys

Need to get more info on swapping GTIR ITBs onto the Bluebird motor.

I have the jist on the rework for the holes. seems pretty easy.

BUT is there any issues with taking out the IACV valve. I have a calumsult ECU running the BB motor, so does the programing get all fubar'd when the IACV and is removed from the system

You need the IACV, why would you want to remove it? It is easy to retain it and the wiring harness just needs minor reworking.

I dont know alot about the itb's but i heard you have to adjust them every so often and its a pain in the a#s. can anyone verify?

Only need adjustment when the throttle butterfly seals start to wear too much(teflon coating) and you need a vacuum gauge and a thin screwdriver to adjust them for a balanced vacuum. Not needed all the time though, thats for sure :)

Hey Iamhappy46

I think I mean the Auxilary air control valve
Its the valve at the end of the plenum on the stock Bluebird plenum.

Not the air regulator on the bottom of the plenum.

The GTiR actually has the idle control motor at the other end of the plenum compared to the regular plenums. So instead of being up near cylinder one, it is near cylinder four where the intercooler pipe attaches but underneath.

I actually replaced one last week so I know exactly where it is. That is why the wiring loom just needs to be extended back to cylinder four OR you can unravel the necessary wires from the loom as these wires come from the ECU which is closer to cylinder four anyway.

In this pic, it is located just behind where the fuel rail hose clamps are :)

Ok thanks, I see it now. Easier now then I could have hoped for

Ok so one last question... where is the air regulator attached to on the Gtir motor. Is it on a heavy looking cast bracket under the plenum???

Yeah, under the manifold. Also known as the bastard location when you need to change it :(
