: Dynoed today!!!

Hey guys. I went to APG today for my first ever dyno run. The best of 2 pulls got me 145whp and 131 ft/lbs torque. I thought this was a bit low for my mods (see below). I was expecting about 150whp. Maybe it was the lack of cooldown, the heat, and my heavy ass 16" wheels?

Maybe with UR pullies and ECU I will break the magic 150 barrier.

Still, I'm not that dissappointed. It's still a good 25 more whp than a stock SE-R:D

The heavy ass wheel's are hurtin yea. Matt made 148.5 with a header 91 cam and Courtesy exhaust and getto cia.

Yeah, but Matt's numbers are freakish. I think that something was wrong with that dyno or he has something under the hood that he doesn't even know about.

Cool it off and get them stocks on there and you'll be smooth sailing.

matts 148 was made with a cone filter on the stock intake, not even a CAI, and it was made at speedworks, one of the more respected shops in lewisville...... also he did a few other pulls at a different place and pulled 143 i think

i pulled 148.5 hp 132.4 tq at Alamo Motorsports. mods were cone filter, paceheader, courtesy exhaust, and 91 intake cam, on stock wheels.

the very same day, 3 or 4 other sr20 cars dynoed. One even had S3 cams, ECU, pulleys, CAI, etc and I still beat them all :D

Believe it, the #s were correct... Ever since james vick got his hands on my motor, it was running strong :D

P.S. oh yeah, i dynoed at speedworks on a different day with wider tires, and pulled ~145hp ~131tq

Same here. I know I should be putting down more power than that, unless the things I mentioned really do make that much of a difference.

After seeing SE-Rican's numbers I'm kind of upset now. I think I should have had higher numbers with my mods. Did I get screwed and not really get the 10:1 engine?

I don't think my tuning is bad or I need a tune-up because it idles fine, doesn't hesitate, and has good throttle response.

What could it be?

BTW, I got 145 whp and 130.5 torque.

This may sound dumb, but did you check timing? I gained like 4hp and 3.5tq just by advancing from 15 to 17-18*. That was with 87 octane on my stock motor.

Let me say it again:

Cool it off and get them stocks on there and you'll be smooth sailing.

Are you positive its a 10:1? From what I heard, its the newer JDM SR20s that are the 10:1, look for things like, did it have an internal coil (like the 200sx engine), does the valve cover have bolts that hold it down, rather than the acorn nuts?

I got a JDM SR20, and I am pretty sure its a 9.5:1, and that it came off a 94 primera. I was able to put down 146hp with pacesetter header, wai, pullies, and exhaust, with stock 14s. My car only cooled down for about 20-30 minutes before I dynoed.
