Place Racing has a very nice aluminum one for $26 but they charge $11 for shipping. $36 total. That gives you a price to beat, plus the PR one is very well made machined aluminum.

If they are stainless then they would work just fine. I have a friend that would take one I think depending on price. Who knows.

I'd probably be interested if it were stainless or powder coated. I can't figure out if my intake whistle is typical of CAI's in general or is a side effect of my DIY setup and my whimpy MAF plate that I stole off of the OEM air box.
