I have a pacesetter exhaust for my 91 SE-R, yes I know they prone to rust. Well I had to change my rear section, the mid was in perfect condition, and I put on a arospeed muffler with a duky 4 inch tip (at least it doesn't sick out 5 inches from the bumper like the pacesetter tip).
OMG, this thing is abnoxiously loud. You can hear me from a mile away. I sound like a civic!!! No STEALH whatsoever!!!
I don't know if my Hot Shot Gen 5 headers, Random tech cat, and PR CAI add to this noise!!
Do any of you drive around with this noise? Do you think if I add the silencer that Arospeed sells will quite this noise?
DO ANY OF YOU SR20DE'S DRIVE AROUND LIKE THIS?????
From 3k-5k is the worst, anything below of higher is fine.

Arospeed is probably your problem. I have no experience with them but heard they do not muffle any of the exhaust and are extremely loud. They are a complete straight through muffler, literally, with little to no baffle whatsoever.

Does the Pacesetter midsection have a resonator built in. If not, have a glasspack welded in right after the cat. That would definitely help with the sound.

It is not necessarily the Arospeed muffler.

Here is a quick story of my exhaust system. I once had a 3A Racing 2.25" catback, stock cat, Pacesetter headers, and an 18" resonator. My car was loud (for what it had).

I changed the muffler, I now have an Arospeed, and the car got quieter. Next I changed the header, went from the Pacesetter to a 3rd gen HS, and again the car got even more quiet. Right now its at the point where you dont even notice the exhaust at all. If you dont believe me, ask SE-Rican, he actually thinks my car sounds crappy cause its too quiet. :p

Where can I get the 18" resonater? I have been looking, but haven't found on online. You have to help me here, I am in Germany!

Jam, I just went to a muffler shop and asked. Be sure to get a perforated one and not louvered.
