The '95 in my signature is making a odd knock/rattle from somewhere in the front suspension. It's a pretty irregular, fast paced sounds that comes when I hit small imperfections in the road. Seems to be coming mostly from the left front area of the car.

To me it sounds like a bad strut or strut mount. Both looked okay when I removed them a couple weeks ago to do the wheel bearing and some other crap.

I seem to remember my friend talking about steering rack bushings causing problems on 300zx's, but don't know if the same is true for the 200. Only other things I can think of are control arm bushings, sway bar bushings or something related to the strut.. Am I missing anything??

My axle is making a similar sound to what you describe as one of the joints is bound up. (although I'm still going to drive on it for a few days...haha)
