my friend just picked up his 99 sel and was wonderin if it is possible to get an AEM for a 99 SEL because he doesnt want to cut the hole in the fender
do other intakes fit without making the hole bigger?
is there anyone out there running a AEM on their 99

yes you can get an aem for a b14. don't be surprised when the instruction say 1994 se-r. as far as cutting or enlarging the hole, you will need to cut the hole larger if you want to run a cai vs a wai. with the aem, you will have to cut the hole larger than you would if you had a hotshot or PR. the reason why you have to enlarge the hole larger than the hotshot or PR is because th AEM has a bracket near the filter. it also has brackets and bushings to keep the tube nice and snug.

I just installed mine on Sunday. Like 99SENTRASER said the whole will have to be cut larger than the other to CAI. You will also cut a whole on the pipe for the O2 sensor. If he doesn't want to cut a big whole he should just get a POP.

The hole is for the air temperature sensor (we are still taking about the AEM CAI, right?) and it is not necessary to install it in the pipe. Just leave it connected and dangling near the intake somewhere. It is only used on startup to tell the ECU what the outside temperature is. After that it is not used.

DUH! My bad, I meant to say "air temp.". The sensor is only used for start-up? Well that sucks, I drilled a whole for nothing. Oh well, at least it looks clean.
