the other day i was riding my classic and as i approached i think from 6k to 7k rpm all of a sudden it sounded liike somebody poured rocks into my engine. i thought i might have ran over something, but i went back and nothing was on that road.I didnt know what to think at the time so i ran it soft after i ipulled over. and then i wanted to see if it would do it again so i slowly started pushing the car higher and higher to see if it would make the same noise again. nope, never happened again, even burned out in 1st and i went through every gear to 7500rpm and went all the way to 110mph.
Im not a mechanic so i dont knwo what this nosie was. I have heard of people talking about valves floating or something like that. This is the only thing i could think of. My friends dad is a long time mechanic and he said thats what it probably was. If it is this, what caused my engine to do that? and what should i do to fix it if I can? and how can i prevent it in the future? or is this just something that happens to everybody? TIA
