Alright guys, after many years of patiently waiting, pretty much not modding my vehicle at all, there is a VE sitting in my garage right now. I have to finish cleaning out the garage, pull the G20 in there and get started!

I'm sure to have questions, so I'll use this as my central thread for everything. I'm going to be pretty much on my own on this swap (central indiana is pretty devoid of SR20 enthusiasts - those that are here are not available) - so bear with me; Ben Davis helped me on everything else I have done in the past.

I'll take some pics tonight, and hopefully get the new water pump and injectors swapped over, and prep the engine for removal.

I'll have a couple pics up later... today has been much slower than I had anticipated. I was working by myself most of the day, and this being my first swap on my own, it's just slow going.

First major problem... the lower screw on the FPR is stripped out... any good ideas to get it out? I'm going to try some pliers here in a minute, but the top one was in there pretty good.

The axle nuts are NOT coming off, so I'm going to have to get an impact tomorrow... harbor freight closed 5 mins before we got there tonight, so I'm pretty much on hold for tonight.

Any suggestions on everything I can do w/ the axles still attached?

my FPR screws stripped out too. i removed the rail and used visegrips on the screws.
my impact wouldnt even bust off my axle nuts(cheap impact though) i used a very large(4ft) breaker bar and they broke free with a slight push.
remove the harness from the ecu(10mm bolt) and unhook all the waterlines and stuff. do not unplug any harness connection from the motor that go to the main harness. just pull the ecu end of the harness through the firewall and take it all out together. if you want to keep your AC, dont unhook any ac lines just unbolt it from the motor and unplug the wire going to the compressor. then tie the compressor up with something so it isnt just hanging by its lines. do the same with the Powersteering.
if you havnt already removed your hood, do it now.
are you auto or manual?

PB plus a lot of pressure with a phillips screwdriver and I got that screw out.

I'm a manual... I was going to take it out the bottom, it seems as though the PS and A/C would get in the way going out the bottom...?

i would just go out the top if you dont have a lift. i went out the top(with a huge autotranny) and back in from the top about 2 min. worth of carfull manuvering and your out and clear of the AC. if you try to make the car that high in the front with out matching it in the back the angle makes it harder to get the motor out. just lift the front of the car up high enough to get the wheels off and put it on jackstands. then take the motor out the top. remove the tranny mount from the tranny so it dosnt hang up and you can go up and out easy. the ac lines may give you some trouble, have a friend hold the lines out of the way while you lift and manuver the motor. i did my whole swap alone so it was kinda hard to get past the ac lines.

the ps pump wont get in the way. You can either remove the pump from the bracket and get it outta the way, Or you can just drain the fluids and remove the lines...i removed my ac before pulling my motor so i cant help ya with that but the ps should be ok just manuver the motor/tranny with the hoist and drop it down.

i never said take the tranny off just the tranny mount(3 bolts under one min.)

Yes it uses the same gaskets as any other DE,

order the 00-02 RR gasket set comes

Does not look to bad under the valve cover.
