I profess ignorance about the MSD ignition.
So what does it do?
Does it improve HP on an NA car?
What stock parts do you need to reomve in order to install it?
Is it hard to install?
And finally where do I get one for a good price?

An MSD, or any aftermarket ignition for that matter, is not necesary on a NA car. In fact, I've heard of many guys running over 300HP (with turbo) running stock ignitions-down to the wires (just changing plugs). You would only need it if your NA motor was running every bolt-on, and also had high compression. It is difficult to install (B14+) because you have to take your distributor apart, seperate a small metal tab, soldier a wire to it, wire in the rest of the MSD box, as well as get a tach adaptor from MSD to avoid an error code on the ecu.

But Naji, if you're thinking of adding a MSD box to your B13 you recently acquired, then I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

I added one to my B13 when I was using nitrous (for the adjustable timing retard, really). However, when tooling around NA, I *did* notice a tiny difference in how the car idled, and ran, in general.

If you're thinking of doing this to your B13, the install is pretty simple. I have pics of my install, which I would be more than happy to send you. All you are doing is cutting both wires going into the coil, and splicing in the MSD wires. It is tight quarters in that area, but not bleeding finger time.

I bought my MSD Digital 6 box (probably overkill for NA only, as it features an adjustable timing retard, a two-step for launching at the dragstrip, and an adjustable rev limiter). I would suggest the basic MSD 6A box for your needs.

Hit up www.summitracing.com for a good price.

Good luck.

I've read a couple things that have lead me to believe there might be a couple HP in it, even for NA. No, its not needed, but there could be a benefit.
Any volunteers to dyno test?
