Hi everyone,

I search a little bit but I could not find a definite answer. maybe someone here can take a few second of there time and answer.

my crank pulley is starting making a sound recently (and I know its culprit since my splash guards are not on and the sound source is coming from ther) and when driving it sounds like whinning for a short time then goes away. what can be the cause? I saw a thread also that is similar to this issue but I wanted to make sure. Is there a spacer in between? I spoke to greg from gspec and he told me there is but I couldn't understand fully because our phone connection sucked at the moment. I just wanted to clarify among you people and it bothering me a bit sitting in the bathroom stall at work =). its a gtir motor with stock pullies.

thank you

The crank pully is not going to make any noise.

Its got to be a bad bearing in the Alt, or AC Comp bearing going out or the PS pump is failing.

their is no spacer fitted to the gtir crank pulley, The only problem I've found with the standard pulley is that the rubber gets old and the outer ring can move, In this case its scrap.

ill check the other pullies this weekend but I'm pretty sure its the crank. the ac comp belt is not connected by the way dre so elimate that. but the immediate sound is below, I turn the wheel to the left so the tire faces inside and I literally putting my ear near it and its distinct.

for the answer about rubber being old bearings could move and is scrap, can you please tell me what do you mean scrap? bearing and rubbers so this needs replacing?
