I am currently in the process of swapping by fubar stock sr20de for a jdm sr20de. I for the most part have everything ready to pull the old block out. I am just wondering what do I hook the engine hoist to to pull the block out of the car? I have a haynes manual...but it is good as toliet paper! Please respond as soon as possible, I not a good midnight mechanic. I want to have my car running by tommorow evening...

Yes, you'll need a hoist. You can either use the hoist to pull the engine and tranny thru the top, or if you jack the car up high enough (28inches, i believe), you can lower it thru the bottom and slide the motor out.

well I have the hood already off...the only problem is the jackstands i have dont go hight enuff to the the engine out from under the car....I have the engine hoist attached to the engine and the motor mounts are outta the car....its ready to drop...i hope the spots i mounted the engine hoist hold....I have to wait 5+ hours for my buddy to get off work so he can help me out. I cannot do this by myself. I hope to get this done tonight. For those who have done this before, how long does it normally take to put a engine in ur car?

Have a good strong tree with a big branch? attach a come-a-long to a really stong branch in the tree or in the garrage around a strong beam. If not jack the car up as high as you can than block it. Than put a block under the car and put the jack on top of itkeep doing it till the engine in on the ground with enough room to slid it out. there is alot of way of doing it just have to find out what and how you can do it.
