OK, so I have a B14 with a U13 DET swapped in. I want to upgrade the turbo to the gtir t28. My outlet pipe faces downward, and from what I can find by searching, all of the gtir's I have seen face upward. I just had all custom made intercooler piping done and I am wondering if the GTIR T28 can be clocked to a downward facing outlet?? I would hate to have to get new piping made after I just recently spent all that money on the piping. Also, does anyone know where I can get one of these turbos new or freshly rebuilt for a decent price??? Thanks guys! :biggthump

im not sure but from what ive read a gti-r turbo will not clear the block on a bb manifold so just look into that.

no, a gti-r t28 will clear the block on a bluebird manifold. I'm pretty much 100% sure. The Gti-r turbo can be clocked down, you'd just need to make yourself a bracket for the w/g actuator. If you put up pics of the turbo setup as it is now, I might be able to tell you if the piping can be used. Worst case scenario you might have to have one section of pipe remade. Get some pics up so we can see what you're talking about...

I'll try to get some good pics of the turbo as it sits in the car now, as well as the piping. My camera is kinda in the craps now, but I'll see what I can get up. Thanks guys.

Ok, these are the best pics i could get of how the current outlet, and hot pipe of the intercooler are. My turbo set-up is just like the Avenir, downward facing outlet pipe. Almost hits the crossmember. Is it going to be worth the hassel to reclock the GTIR T28 or should I just get new hot side piping??

This is the outlet just above the cross member

i thought u just had to grind the block a bit to clear the gtir t28? My memory is a little hazy though
