B13Sentra2DR 03-30-2007, 01:37 AM Yes I heard you just knock the abs ring off the axle with a hammer + screwdriver.

sinistersntra91 03-30-2007, 01:43 AM You dont have to knock the ring off and yes they will work.

Doesn't go in what, the tranny, or hub?
JuSt Ta GeT By 03-30-2007, 11:44 AM in the tranny
Serban 03-30-2007, 11:50 AM The tranny side of the axle isn't any different on abs and non abs axles. Verify that your tranny is LSD, and the axle is an LSD axle.
If it is the correct tranny/axle combo, remember that clip on the end of the axle makes it a little tough sometimes to get the axle in.

Oh shnap i hate that when you go to tug it into the trann it kinda just " thinks " about going in until you start to sweat LOL
JuSt Ta GeT By 03-31-2007, 07:13 PM what do alot of you use to get it in?
veilside180sx 03-31-2007, 07:21 PM 3 lb sledge hammer here. A couple little taps and it pops right in.
JuSt Ta GeT By 03-31-2007, 07:23 PM See mine wouldnt go in..well ill have some pix up tonight on how they look and you guys could tell me if they are all the way in..

A little lubrication helps too...
With another pair of hands rotating the passenger side axle slowly back in forth could do away with using nothing more than a tap.

JuSt Ta GeT By 04-01-2007, 12:21 AM How far in should it go? Yea I know all the way but it doesn't look all the way in and I can't get it in anymore!!

If you still have your old axle, pop the clip off the old one and replace the one on the hew axle with the old clip, I had to do that once, fought the damn thing for 4 hours till i found that out. I guess some times the wire the clip isn't made right

Did you verified what Serban said^. And yes, that axle needs to go futher in than that. Observation; That seal looks pushed in to deep too.

JuSt Ta GeT By 04-01-2007, 03:47 PM Can someone show me a pic of the ring or clip I should replace? I bought these from FNSIKER and he told me they were LSD w/abs axles.. I have LSD but don't have ABS so could I take of the ring ur talking about? Both are leaking! Were u saying my seals look bad? Any info would help!
sinistersntra91 04-01-2007, 03:48 PM I dont think the seal is pushed into deep, but yes do what serban said and verify that it is indeed a LSD axle and a LSD shaft, easy way to do this is look at the input seals on both sides of the trans, if one seal is noticeably bigger than the other you have LSD if they are the same size visually its a non lsd trans, the easiest way to see if you have the right shaft is slide your finger or a ratchet handle into the trans until it hits the metal "cross bar" thats in the transmission in between the two shafts, mark where its even with the edge of the transmisson seal and then compare with the end of the shaft. If they are different sizes you have the wrong shaft. If everything checks out to be right then slide the shaft in as far as it will go, then by hand rotate the shaft slowly and tap (with pretty good force) on the other end with a small sledge hammer, make sure you put the nut on the end of the shaft to beat on so you dont damage the threads, the reason it wont go in all the way is that there are two sets of teeth that the shaft has to line up with in order to go into the trans all the way.
