: clutch saftey switch question mismo42 06-01-2002, 03:42 AM I think mine is bad. car wouldn't start... AAA guy "hot wired" it by shorting the starter, so I think it is the little sensor on the clutch pedal. If I just cut the wires and splice them together will that work? It's called a Clutch safety switch for a reason. If you bypass it, and start your car in gear, guess what will happen. Took valve cover off to adjust valves, reached through window to just rotate engine by using starter, car jumped forward due to being in gear and ran into my parents freezer. Dented the door so bad it wouldn't seal anymore. Had to put a new latch on the bottom to force it shut. 10 years latter they are still double latching the thing. Steve | ||
