Just out of curiousity, how hot does the exhaust manifold or header get while driving?

When I was under the car I was checking the bolts that attach the downpipe to the exhaust manifold, because I wanted to see if any were loose. Well, I ended up burning one of my fingers pretty good. Lesson learned...header and downpipe get very hot, very fast. | ||
