I've tried raising the speed limit cut using the realtime board and I'm having trouble. Right now, I have the JDM speed sensor in my S14 and it's registering way faster than what I'm actually traveling. Until I get my USDM S14 speed sensor I need to raise the speed limiter and I don't seem to be making any headway by using the stock S13 Redtop bin and modifying the speed limiter in that and uploading the entire bin. This doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm using Tuner Pro RT to modify the bin using a B13 XDF. Any suggestions?

Let me make a S13DET xdf. Its a bit different than the B13, I don't remember if its got a different speed limiter but it sounds like it does. When its working correctly you should be able to change just the speed limiter in TP, (and with it in emulate mode) click the the update button, and verify live that its changed.

Late last night I found the thread you started about the different address locations in the bin. I got to poking around in the S13 bin I received from you at those different address locations listed for speed limiter. 0031 had a value of 200km/h 059C had a value of 20km/h and 0590 had a value of 120km/h or so TunerPro RT told me. I didn't look to see what conversions were being done there. Regardless, I created three modified versions of the XDF and BIN files to try. But, it was so late then that I didn't have a chance to try. Also, it doesn't give me the option to update those locations in realtime. I didn't look for that being an option in the XDF, however. Regardless, I would like to see the XDF you come up with for the S13 and see where I can get with that. BTW, my ECU is a 62 if that helps you any.
EDIT: I just wanted to make note that I am getting into the speed limit when the speed-o registers near 120MPH. I don't know what speed I'm really doing as I mentioned in my first post...

To update the values live, click the emulate button first. Its the little 'chip' looking button on the toolbar. Then you get a new 'update' button in your byte value boxes. If I'd finish the dang TunerProRT setup thread I'd show you a pic. :P

It's alright. I know which one your talking about. I forgot about that! :) So, I'm on the right track with the changes I mentioned in the last post or am I barking up the wrong tree? Given the values that were in the bin I got from you and how the car is responding to those values, I'm not sure how to feel about it...

Setup three speed limiters (cut and paste the existing one), all identical except for the address:
0031
05C9
05CA
and set two rev limiters:
005C
05C0
Delete any rev or speed limiters except listed above, and make sure the values are back to the original before deleting if your using a modified bin.
The S13(SR20DET) is a bit different from the B13 and S13(KA).

Ok, after review, it was apparently too late last night when I was messing with the XDF. I was mistakenly editing 059C instead of 05C9 and editing 05C0 as a speed limiter. Obviously, those didn't fix my problem as I was trying it out tonight. I will try the ones you've listed here and report back.
EDIT: Due to where the speed limit is kicking in, I think it is 05C9 which is set to 180km/h.

I just got back from trying the addresses you specified. I didn't change any of the RPM limits. I first changed the 05C9 address which was originally 180km/h and I changed it to 300km/h. That one got rid of a concerning stutter limit that acted like it was speed limiting by shutting down only one injector and my wideband was registering a super lean condition. After that, I was hitting the brick wall limit at 200km/h where it shuts the engine down completely until the speed drops back down. The next speed limit I changed was address 0031 that was originally set to 200km/h. I changed that one to 300km/h, also. That made all speed limits go away. Thanks Calum for your continued support! Now, on to the real tuning and more boost!

hey Calum i couldnt pm so ill bring this back from the dead sry, dont really wanna start a new post , bad experiences here : (
i have a s13 sr20de and im getting the same Speed Cut symptoms this guy was getting , and its horrible , the engine shuts off at 6000 rpm on 3rd gear. Im searching this site and cant find a easy answer .What can you recommend ,
ppl here said , try another s13 ecu , i bought the engine w/o a transmission and bolted a gearbox ,is it possible the probem is because it coulda tranny ** ? or that wouldnt have nuttin to do with it , also itll sound dumb , but if one uses a s14 pinout to wire the s13 , will this kinda problem arise ? just my opinions
