Hey,
Have a 98 sentra SE 2.0L and the AC just blows hot. I noticed a small puddle on the ground below the condensor and some leaking from the main rubber/metal tube entering the condensor. Can I replace the tube, can I recharge the system myself...or do I just need to take it to the shop? Thanks for the help. Oh, I am assuming I have the R134a being a 98...yes?

I think you will need to take it to a shop for proper recharging. It will work like crap if you under or over fill it. Make sure the system is completely empty before you replace the hose and or seals. Yup, your car should be using the newer stuff.

celsius,
I think i have a leak in the main pipe running behind the radiator into the compressor. Do you think I can replace it and recharge the system myself or leave it to the professionals?

It might be worth it to take to a professional have them assess the problem. But if your positive that you have a leak and you know where it's coming from. Yes you can fix it yourself. If you do it yourself you will need a canister to unload any R134, if there is anything left in there. Then you can replace the part that is causing the leak. Then recharge the system.

Thanks, just curious how do you "unload" any remaining r134a and then put it back in? Which hoses do you go after to get it out/in? Thanks again.
