Here is the Deal. I have a 91 Nissan 240SX Fastback with super Hias on board. Yesterday I was driving down the highway when i went to switch gears. When i pushed the clutch in the clutch stayed to the floor but wouldn't come up I was able to pull it out of the floor with my hand and continue on to a safe spot in the road to pull over. The fluid for the clutch is all the way up. What Is the problem?????? Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe it got lodged back there by the carpet or something?? I know my carpet has a hole in it from where it has rubbed on the clutch for 6-7 years...although the clutch is pretty bouncy...sorry can't help otherwise.

If the clutch pedal is real easy to push down and then stays there , you have a leak in the clutch hydraulic system. Yes i know you said that the fluid was full, but it may even be an internal leak.

Be sure to check the fluid, look at the firewall underneath the clutch master cylinder for any leaks. (both interior and under the hood), carefully inspect the rubber hose in the clutch system, and take a close look at the slave cylinder by the tranny.

It is possible every now and then for the aster cylinder to develope an internal leak where the fluid doesn't pressurize and it just flows back into the resivoir.

Anyway, same thing happened to me in my rx-7 when i still had it.
Gave me an excuse to jek the tranny and put a leightweight flywheel in. Oddly enough though, I still had the problem when i put it back together. Finally found out the hose was leaking a little bit.
