I think its like 10mm but I could be wrong...its much easyer to take it off on the inside than try to mess with getting it back on...yu're talking about taking the speedo sending unit out? Its a real PITA...all you have to do to dissconnect it from the back of the gauge cluster is reach up inside the dash with all the lower trim and stuff off and pinch the end of the calbe together I think...hope this helps!

i have big hands and cant squeeze them around the area where the cable attaches to the cluster, i can get maybe two fingers on it. i didnt feel anything to press or squeeze, where is that exactly? it does twist about 90 degrees but thats it, i was afraid of breaking it.

I think you either squeeze it or pull two things appart....its been a while since I messed with it....One of the clips is broken, there are two, one on either side. Mine still works though...it doesn't snap on there...it just kinda sits there...I had to reach up inside and push it on and it hasn't moved...mine's an NX and it doesn't have this evil little box thingy(that surrounds the speedo cable for no reason) that the SE-R's of the same liniage had...:p

um............... i just unscrewed the holder thingie by hand and then pulled the cable out was nothing to it and was easy to put back in and i did it at night. was much easier than putting my hand up throw any tight areas and then after I was able to move the cluster out far enough I disconnected it from the cluster and removed it. It wasnt hard to do at all.
