I have been doing some searching and its all getting confusing to me...
I just want real good brake pads for the street. I don't do any road racing or autox. But the stock Nissan pads aren't enough for me.
I did look on coximport.com and they only have metal masters for the front. So I guess stock is good for the back? (I read that in my search.)

Places to buy them would be good too. thanx!

Some good choices:
Porterfield R4-S
Hawk HPS or HP+
Axxis Ultimate
KVR

Avoid EBC and VGX.

Stock pads in the rear are just dandy. Rear doesn't do much of the stopping anyway.

only stock for rear. Anything else is a waist. Have you tried Powerstop X-drilled rotors with factory pads? I think you may be impressed by this combo. If your not, try other pads. This combo worked for me. https://www.olyonline.com/Autospec.htm . Get some Stainless lines also.

Hawk HPS are great street pads. The HP+ are a little too agressive for the street. What's wrong with the OEM pads? Anyways, I heard some good things about EBC Green Stuff.

I have the EBC greens on my 11" kit and i did some road racing in the poconos a few weeks ago and i had zero problems with them.

Matt, did you know that the EBC on now on version 2? Have you looked at those? I don't know but some people seem to like the EBC greens.

I'm no brake expert, but I read a lot of reveiws that said the EBC Greens were only a little better than stock, but cost way more. Just my $.02.

Haven't tried EBCs in a while. I sure hope this new version is better than the old, because the old version was shit-E. The combination of comments from other EBC users was that they squealed, dusted heavily, and glazed after "spirited" driving. EBC prides themselves on "zero rotor damage". If I drove a Porsche 911 where the rotors were $200, each, I might take that into consideration. When I can get new rotors all day long for $25, I don't give a DAMN about rotor damage. They become an expendable wear item at that point.

For the same money, there's better choices IMO.

Edit: After trying every compound they had and not finding anything worthwhile, I pretty much gave up on EBC. I paid $90 for Redstuff pads that lasted a whopping 60 track miles. They gave me a set of their yellow stuff that barely survived one weekend on a not-so-brake-intensive course. Piss poor.

At least my $25 rotors weren't damaged

On my new Wilwood setup were Coleman rotors cost $125 or so a piece this might be a good idea. It does sound like V2 is better. From what rob said they still are very dusty. Any, other low damage pads that you would recommend. TIA

those are the Axxis Metal Masters. i little overkill for rear brakes. but if you've got money to burn, they'll help more than they'll hurt.

chrissy, you're turning into a regular monkey! :)

Metal master's I've had good experience with, however i will be running some Hawk's fairly soon. If you can, try to get yourself some stainless brake lines. that was the first mod i did to my car and it was worth every penny.

Don't forget to grab yourself some motul brake fluid too.

Try Porterfield R4 or Carbotech Panther (Panther +, Panther XP). Any of those are easier on rotors than Hawk Blue.

I like my ebc greens better than stock pads however I get this Loud groaning noise from the front when I do harder than average braking do the rotors need to be cleaned or something

Well I hate brake dust and don't mind the squeeling of semi metalic so I guess I'll get metal masters for the front and stock for the back.
And about those SS brake lines. I may attemp making some, my boyfriend already has the tool! :D
I'm no monkey Lee. 1 screw up doesn't qualify me for that. :p

WHAT? Stainless steel brake lines are not something you cobble together on your workbench. What kind of tool does your boyfriend have that makes you think you can make them? I assume it's for making SS hoses for engine compartment vacuum lines etc. That's a completely different animal than brake lines. Brake lines are hydraulic hoses which are under WAY more pressure than vacuum, or coolant hoses. And I have no idea where you'll find the hose end fitting to attach to the brake caliper and hard line.

I'm no monkey Lee. 1 screw up doesn't qualify me for that. :p

No, but attempting to make your own SS brakelines could make you a dead monkey!

FYI

I replaced my old 11.75" Coleman rotors with a new set only to find out a couple weeks later that Wilwood sells rotors for a fraction of the price. They are not cross drilled or slotted but for the price ($33.50 each) you can't beat them.

I bought a set from Behrents 845-651-7389, P/N WIL160-0471.

Remember these are 11.75 x .810 w/ a 7" 8 bolt circle pattern. YMMV
