: tire repair?

I've got a nail in one of my tires. When I took it to a tire shop they said that it couldn't be fixed because it's low profile. WTF? I never heard of this. The guy at the shop couldn't explain why. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Also, how much might it cost to get a broken lug replaced?

TIA,

Jeff

Unless the puncture was in the sidewall, they should be able to plug or patch it. Try a different shop.

If the hole is in the sidewall, it won't be able to be repaired. If it's in the tread block, it should be able to be repaired.

If it's in the tread, you can repair it yourself with a tire patch kit from just about any parts store. I've used it 3 times with no problems.

It probably won't cost much. It takes maybe 10 minutes.
