: nos investigation!!!!
tim_gtir 04-10-2007, 04:34 AM I know nos will void warranty on my 350z.
IS it possible that you can use it and take them off when the motor is ka-boom or when taking to service?
Is there a way that mechanic can take apart an engine and be able to test it or tell that it has been feeded with nitrous?
thanks,,,
Bo0sT 04-10-2007, 10:31 AM Trying to abuse an engine that is under warranty and then fooling the dealership is something I find quite disgusting. You will destroy an engine, get a brand new one, and cost the dealership money. That engine might be free to you, but it's not free to the dealership, and it's not free to all of us who have to pay the extra dime to make up for it. Please just wait untill the engine runs out of warranty before you hook it up with nitrous oxide.
By the way, I guarantee you that when they get an engine that's been blown, they're going to look at the air flow chart stored in the ECU and find out there was some forced induction going on, thus voiding your warranty. Nitrous oxide is also somewhat corrosive. They will more than likely notice its effects on your sensors and your internals. It also leaves a residue inside the engine that they can detect with certain chemicals, if they believe that this is what happened. To answer your question, no. You will not get away with it.
Peace,
Ben
se200 04-10-2007, 10:53 AM F-- the dealers I used to sell cars and all I did was rip ppl off all day long...and I mean rip them off for thousands if you had any idea hows much they over charge you and how much they can knock off the price you would see what I'm saying. Anyways the dealer wont pay the company will nissan gets charged. I did this with my WRX and they fixed it every time 3 trannys later I sold it.
as for the nos you can run a small shot on the 350z and not have to worry about it if I can run a 100hp shot on a 100k+ sr you can run a 60hp shot on a 350z just get it donw right no crappy ebay dry kits. get a NOS wet kit and have it installed right.

lol are you serious? your gonna side with the stealerships that charge ppl 20-40% above cost, who try to nickel and dime ppl but tellign them they need knew brakes when they were just changed, or that they need a power steering flush on a car that has 20k miles...
Then the fact that they wont honor the warranty unless you get the car serviced there at their jacked up prices because "other mechanics arent qualified"
dont get me wrong, just like most bad things in the world there are a few of the bunch that are good, but lets face it the majority of them arent all that "customer friendly"

dude man, I just want to slice your brain off so it will wake your **s up to the real work. I paid for that god damn warranty and i'm gonna make sure i get what i paid for.
Either ur dad's the co of nissan warranty corp. or u need to hit yourself in the head and kick urself in the @@s.
90%+ stealships are thiefs and crooks, don't u realize that? when they're trying to sale u a car is one thing, when something needed to be fixed it's another. Like they mentioned above most of them are @@shole.
Anyways thanks a lot for whateve u believed in. I'm just gonna do what i gotta do.

no man, i don't know him maybe he is a nice individual too but i just got a bad temper and i hate the dealer.
Plus,,,,they don't pay for any part, they're getting pay for their cheap and expensive labor cause the part is covered by the warranty corp, not the dealer.
I'm pissed cause he don't know what he's talking about (((dealer this and dealer that)
oh by the way, i'm not 13 and let's leave it at that.
please close this post!!!!
El Gabito 04-10-2007, 11:56 PM Where did this thread come from? Is this a joke?
Bo0sT 04-12-2007, 01:46 AM Well maybe you guys didn't notice, but regardless of who ends up paying for the new engine and the hours the mechanic spent putting it in (either Nissan Corp or the stealership) somewhere in the line they are going to have to make up for their losses. Where do you think that money comes from? The only place that any company makes money from - the customers. So regardless of whether the prices get raised straight from Nissan corp, or at the dealership, we pay more in the end.
You paid for a warranty, and you want to make sure you get what you paid for. That's fair. Well, in the terms of agreement, it says you paid for an engine that was designed to go XXXXX miles in XXXXX amount of time, with certain services in certain intervals. If you didn't agree with their terms, you shouldn't have given them daddy's credit card and your signature on the dotted line.
Nitrous Oxide, like any forced induction, throws all their years of engineering out the window every time you use it. I would hope you wouldn't expect them to pay for your screwups when you run the engine lean and detonate a piston or pump so much nitrous through it that you bend a rod.
And if I need help, I don't think I'm going to ask someone whose communication skills are rivaled by trained apes. "holla at me when yo motor is ka-boom, dawg!"
Bo0sT 04-12-2007, 01:49 AM By the way, we don't know each other at all, but it kinda seems that way, doesn't it? lol
i know one thing for sure dealers are stealer's i can get oem parts cheaper in the usa than i can get here @ the dealer in holland.
if i am right dealers have insurens for warrentey cases so they dont pay anythink
Bo0sT 04-12-2007, 11:14 AM Yes, I understand that. I was just misusing the term "dealer" to communicate my point. I should have said "Nissan Corp" instead, but the point remains the same. :)

The answer is, YES, they can see if nitrous has been used.
Eric96redsr20 04-15-2007, 12:15 AM i can see both points of your arguments. i think the bottom line is dealerships are out to make a buck end of story. whether or not someone abuses there warranty probably has little effect on the cost of warranties for the rest of us.
found this to back up my point.
"I'll just buy my auto warranty at the dealer, it's convenient".
Wrong. It costs more at the dealer, who are just middlemen marking up what you can buy your Ford or Chrysler warranty direct from a warranty company for much less. Car dealers often resell the extended warranty to you at 2 to 3 times what they paid. I get complaints from buyers whose dealers tried to sell them new car warranties for $3000-$5000. Dealers do not show you the contract in advance, so you have no idea what you are signing up to other than their verbal promise, or marketing slick sheets which are not contracts, and they leave out details that bite you in the butt later. Sure it's convenient to just buy an auto warranty while sitting at your Ford, Honda, or Toyota dealer, but it's also convenient to go online and buy a better extended warranty for half the price.
this site had some good info warranties, whether they are "customer friendly" is yet to be determined.
NiSmoFaTTY 05-10-2007, 03:15 PM Just so you guys know, you cant meter air that is being put into your motor AFTER the MAF.. Ecu wont reflect it. If you are using a nozzle system, it is installed between your maf and your tb. You dont need to meter shit. In short, you can do that, I have spray on my truck and I take it to the dealer all the time. I dont abuse the motor though.
Nyc Sr20PowerD 05-10-2007, 08:50 PM we warrantee an s2000 even though we KNEW (the technicians) nitrous was on the car, lol all depends on teh dealership u go,
Tuned GXE 05-10-2007, 10:43 PM This reminds me. My friend is on his 4th yes 4th Mazda 3 engine. He has the extended waranty and he totally drives the car to the limit. I don't know what he is doing but he drives the car harder then anyone I know. He must only know pedal to the floor and brake. Its crazy. He asked me today. How many engines do you think they will give me?
