Well, I've got some more work to do but I'm worried about something. I had a friend of mine machine a set of lightened pulleys that underdrive just a little. We installed them without any problems but there is something wrong with the crank pulley. I'll have to have something changed to get it to fit properly.

Well, here is what I'm worried about. When designing the new pulleys, we used the same diameters as the UR's. Now, we didn't have the car sitting for very long and we didn't have to crank at all to start it and I don't have anything drawing power right now. The battery has almost no charge at all. It has been started three times since the pulleys were installed. The fourth time, we had to push it to start it and we even let it run for a while to charge the battery some. The next day, when I tried to start it... nothing. There is no juice left.

Is this going to be an ongoing battle now that we've underdriven the alternator a little? Or is there something else wrong?

If anyone has any ideas, just lemme know. Thanks,
Chad

did you remove the alternator when you were doing this work? i bet if you didnt, you hit it and it popped the fuse for it. Know ben did this once

Now, we haven't noticed the tell tale "blinking brake / battery" lights for alternator trouble code. Would that have happened if the fuse blew? And would it even run if the alternator fuse has blown?

no blinking if its blown but id doubt it would push start now that i think about it. thought you were saying you charged the battery then it started. hmmm say check wires see if there is a loose connection, or it could just be bad. put a volt meter to it see what its kicking out, and try it at different rpm's see if its just not kicking enough out at idle to keep things charged
