Is there any difference between the tial wastegate and the turbonetics one? Which one is better? And which one should I use if I plan on running at most 14psi, and I'm trying to make around 300 WHP? And where's the best/cheapest place to get one? Thanx

TiAL, hands down. Why do you need an external wastegate, though, if you're going to use a T28?

I'm not planning on using the t28 from the GTIR or an S14/15. A friend of mine can get some good prices on turbo's. And more than likely the turbo I get won't have an internal wastegate, but I could be mistaken since I'm new to turbo's. :D

I think you have that one backwards, friend. Most of the T28s I've seen do have internal wastegates, since most T28s aren't terribly big, and it doesn't make sense to put big, complicated, external systems on inexpensive turbos. ;) You may want to check with your friend, though...

Like I said before I'm new to turbos:confused: So I could be mistaken. But that's why I'm a member of this forum, so I can pick the brains of those with tons of experience.

Anyway, how do you like your turbo setup? Are you running it on stock boost?

An external wastegate would help top end though.

I am running a tial, i love it. I would recomend it. Delta gates are not that bad, they just need to be rebuilt once in a while. Hence the price difference between the two. You get what you pay for.

u can get a 32mm Tail from RRE for $225! pep *** yo! Delta gates sucks cause u have to rebuild them once in a while.

most of the DSM guys around here use 1G blocks in there 2nd Gens. They usally just rebuild the 6 bolt motors with 95 pistons and get rid of the balance shaft. If u call RRE they might be able to point u in a direction for a 2G short block.

they cost more than the 35mm tail but they work good. I have had mine for 4 years and it's never spiked on me boost is under control :D

Tial all the way. My Deltagate didn't spike, it gave a constant gain of 7 psi. Tial looks a gazillion times better under the hood anyway ;o)
