i just want to say that at the rally in denton, i met some guy with i think a 200sx that had a friend of his order a 25 dollar ss off the net and he showed me what happened to it. It broke in half. the part where the ball meets the top half of the shaft is where it broke in half. maybe this is that very short shifter. i cant be certain, but i just thought i'd let you know.

this seems to be a problem with all SS's..... james had the same thing happen to his like $175 SMC, and ive read about lots of people having the same problem.......

So get three of the cheap ones, and keep the other two as spares in the car. :D

I've heard that too. B13's and B14's, the shifters will work for both cars i believe.

most nissan shifters are the same. they will work in 91-01 sentras,nx'en,200's,some maximas and altimas I believe. Its a long list.

buyer beware-
the title of that product is false. I just recieved mine today and it is not short at all! Not a single bit. It is the same height as the stock shifter, the only difference is that it is chrome. Luckily, one of my good car buddies works where he can cut it down and machine a new thread into it. So, no loss for me, but I would definately recommend something else, like the SMC kwik shifter. Just don't give these people money for false advertising.

P.S. Can you kinda tell that I'm pissed that I ordered a chrome shifter that is going to be under a shift boot the whole time?

A short shifter don't meant the Shifter is "SHORT" it just mean the throw from Gear to Gear Shorter. If you cut a Stock shifter it will be the same as a standard shifter. Hope this help to clear that up.

SE_R_Madness is ofcourse absolutely correct on this one.
Short-shifter means SHORT-THROW shifter not SHORT-LENGTH shifter. You want to have a shifter that allows you to shift with minimal movement of your hand between gears.
It is the relative length of the shifter below the pivot-point versus the length above the pivot-point that dictates the actual "throw" of the shifter.
And (putting cosmetic issues aside) the best shifter would be a really long one so that the shift knob is right by your hand on the steering wheel (so the movement from wheel to shifter is the shortest possible) with a really short throw.

good lookin out bro!!!. it just goes to show that some things are too good to be true. i just thought $25 was a really good price.

btw, if you don't want yer old one...donate to me so i can cut it down.:D
