Okay so i think about weird stuff :D !

Anways i was reading in the FSM that one should not rev their engine before they shut it down. And i got to thinking, when you rev the engine it cuts the fuel as it comes back down to idle(FSM i believe), so in theory wouldn't it be a better idea to rev just slightly when shuting down the engine so that the fuel would be cut and no raw gas would get dumbed into the cat or other parts of the exaust. Comments are more than welcome, actually they are requested.

this may be a crude analogy, but here it goes: imagine you are standing still, then you start into an all out sprint, but after the first two steps your body shuts down. revving the engine and then shutting everything down is a bit rough on the components. back in the day of carbureted engines one might rev to get a little extra fuel in the line, but personally i think it's wiser to just pump the pedal a couple times ** starting up. i'm by no means an engineer, but if the FSM says don't do it, it's prolly a good bit o' advice. :)

Pretty ridiculous post, IMO

My grandmother taught me to push the gas pedal to the floor and then start the car. Hmmmm, I think I WON'T try that. :D With the modern day ECUs, I really think that it makes very little differance either way.

This will tell your ECU that it is flooded, and put it into flood mode..not a good idea...:D

i don't know, but i've never done it. what about revving the car when it starts? like, have your foot pressed on the pedal when the car cranks over and blip it to 1500 and then let off. a friend with a honda does it, and thinks it's good for the car but he doesn't know why. to me it sounds bad for the motor, as revving a motor that's completely cold isn't a wise move because the oil has drained to the bottum and you'd just rub metal with metal. i dunno. :)
