I have a 1993 Automatic NX2000 that has been sitting in my driveway for about 2 years. It has high miles on the engine and really needs alot of work. The trans was slipping and leaks pretty bad when i had it running several years ago. A local shop recommended several years ago a new Motor/trans which brought an estimate of nearly 5k. Of course I know that this is an inflated price based on the price they are charging for the parts but still I would like to work on the car. I thought about getting rid of it but I have recently put some money back into it. I had the car running yesterday but it wasn't running very good. I've been thinking about a swap but I'm not sure of the compatibilty issues that may arise. Could somebody shed a little more light on this topic? I don't want to put a tremendous amount of work into it. I'm just looking to restore this as a daily driver.

you can always get a motor a tranny for less than around 1500ish for direct stock replacment or u can get a lil more power by gettin a sr20ve sr16ve or sr20det bluebird restoring a B13(NX or Sentra either one :D) is always a great thing :D

bluebird engines cost more i got an avenir engine it looks stock cause the valve cover is the same color and they sell for much less with the same power Output and you can run an automatic ecu no matter what anyone tell you i am running one myself on my nx2000

what??? Aren't avenir motors newer than Bluebirds. I figured it would be the other way around. like the s13 redtop price compared to s14 blacktop. the bluebird swap is easy and I think the 5 speed swap isn't hard either. I only know ArroNX thats done it around here though. But he went pretty fast spaying the motor and auto tranny as well. If you just want it running good I'd say JDM motor swap and what ever tranny. But if your power hungry you have many many many options.

That shocked me too. I went to go get my motor from Japan Direct and my Boy Told me that I couldnt pick out a Bluebird but I could pick out an Avenir for the price he quoted me. I was like OK lol. For some reason they think people want bluebirds more then Avenirs when really its the other way around since most Avenirs are way newer...I guess the Red valve cover adds value:confused:
