Kesi, I'm just wondering what axles you guys run? Strictly OEM or what? I know those aftermarket axles snap like crazy with hard launches and wheelhop so I'm just curious. Don't mean to threadjack.:D

Try launching @ 8k or where ever your rev limiter is.I know it sounds crazy but that will net a 1.6 or 1.7 60ft >Urbanracer launches @ 9k and he pulls that 60ft when he launches at that rpm.Trust me on this one, burn out good and launch like you hate it :D .

x2. I launched on a STI a few time;)

Very good run. Low 13's are deffinatly there when you cut that 60ft down. MPH is about dead on with you hp too.

Stock oem .Its simple actually, your not breaking oem axels with 160 ft lbs don't matter what you launch at.When you launch at 8k and hook rpm drop to 6k or so your still in vvl and Go .Most people drag they launch at 6 or so with vvl and falls out off vvl or bog for a while :( .Thats why people people run high times but the mph still there.I can go all day explaining how to launch all motor cars but is no way like a turbo car.

at a better track maybe, but this track isnt any good, i actually spun them pretty bad when i launched at 7-7.5. but i will take the pressure down a but and heat them up really well and give it a shot launching at 8k. thanx a lot

lucky, rockfalls is a crappy track, its known as the slippery rock :(

maybe at the convention the track will allow for some low 13 passes.

You will need bigger cam's and more mod's before you need shorter FD thats just my opinion.

do a second gear burnout & launch on the revlimiter

im doing a second gear burnout, but i cant launch any higher then 6500 because the track sucks too much and i spin...

I've pulled low 1.7's launching at 5500-6000, this was with a turbo car though......

what psi are you slicks at... i keep mine around 8-9 psi & that usually gets me a low 1.7 60' doing the 2nd gear burnout & rev limiter takeoff. i would just keep lowering the psi in small increments until you don't spin

big props to ya! those are great runs for a bolt on VE with no serious weight reduction. keep up the good work:)

the reason i think a better fd will help so much is from what the hondas are doing. i know of a few hatches with 190-200whp and from rolls im right with them or i pull away but then at the track these guys are running 12s. when i look at overlays of our dynos they are very simmilar... a friend of mine has a b20 crx that went 12.8 w only 185whp, and its not that light. i would just imagine if i get fd like them i would be able to hit 12s in the 1/4 w only 200whp. am i missing something?

thanx a lot, i think i might start some reduction soon.

I think Kesi is right, he knows what you mean; but with bigger cams you will be able to better use the potential of the shorter FD. Search some of his posts he discussed this earlier. Anyways nice times, keep up the good work.
