This is from before the 300Z front went on it, rear was flared out etc. - 9/13/2002!

I know they're pre-history, thought it might be fun to post them though.

Here we go.

Why was this necessary? Too much ventilation in the block.

I just ventilated a sweet sr20de friday. That make 3 in my collection and I've only been doing this since october. Rods really like to find their way out of these things don't they?

lol, I think you're beating the odds there. Ever play the lottery? It hasn't happened to me personally yet (knocking on wood).

I spy a stock passenger side motor mount. That's pretty surprising. Are the rest stock, and if so, do you know the reasoning behind it?

The drivers are both retired. Maybe solid mounts would be too harsh for them :teehee:

This car has only one driver. Bob continues to work as a Consultant for Navcan and he is a High Performance Driving Instructor for Audi and BMW.

Ahh. I get a different story every time I talk to him. Maybe he is just a jack of all trades. I am always happy to learn from his experiences.

You must have talked to him a while ago then. He tried to retire and he couldn't take it, so he went back as a consultant.

I'm not suprised, I can't even picture him sleeping!

Wow, look at that droop travel!

Haven't seen that on a racecar in a while... AGXs?

Old, old, old. I don't even remember...

The car's totally different now.

It has Konis, but he runs some ridiculously soft spring rates...in the 300 or 400 range IIRC. In action shots you can see the outside front wheel has about 5° of positive camber.

I don't think Konis are on the car there. I'll pick Dave's brain though.

I just realized - it doesn't have the 300Z nose.

Nope, it went shortly after the install. The motor mounts are actually solid on the inside. They were modified to have the appearance of stock mounts when the car raced in show room stock class in the early part of last decade, they still work, no need to replace them.

yea, the suspension is crap, but the man loves to drive in the rain, a few overall race wins in the rain. Much more spring and the wet handling will go away. You never know when you're going to get rain at Mosport. Two years ago it felt like every weekend we were there.

lol, I was lying low on that one still! (the mounts) Has the statute of limitations expired?

yea, never gonna run show room stock ever again
