My car has some light oxidation on the paint that I have been trying to get rid of. Does anyone know of a cheap, effective way to get the wax off of the car, and then get rid of the oxidation? Thanks!

Use a dish washing detergent like dawn or something like that. That will get rid of the wax. Depending on how bad the oxidation is you could use a polish or a rubbing compound for this. It worked for a while on my car but then had to repaint it as it kept getting progressively worse.

Yep clay bar is the way to go. I use mother's whole system once a year. It's worth the time and effort. You won't beleave it's your car when your done ;)

Meguier's stuff seems to work pretty well. I like their wax. Might as well try to remove it with their stuff too. ;)

Dish soap will strip the wax...

If you drag your hand over the surface and it feels gritty - you can you a paint cleaner (Step 1 in the Meguiars 3 step - Cleaner-> Polish-> Wax)

If the cleaner is not effective - go to a clay bar. If that doesn't work then you need to step up to a buffer with a decent pad and a slightly more aggressive paint cleaner (notice we a NOT talking a compound - use that and your paint is going to be toast!). If a clay bar doesn't cut it - seek a professionla detail shop. Doen't risk the paint ...
